Terms that govern your use of this site.
Plain language. Covers acceptable use, intellectual property, disclaimers, and the important distinction between using this website and entering into an engagement with G.E.T AI Labs — which is always governed by a separate written agreement.
Acceptance and scope#
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website operated at getailabs.org (the "Site") by G.E.T AI Labs (the "Lab", "we", "us"). By accessing the Site, submitting an inquiry, or otherwise interacting with the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site. These Terms apply to use of the Site only. Any actual research, consulting, or engineering work performed by the Lab is governed by a separate written engagement agreement executed between the Lab and the engaging organization — see "Engagement agreements" below.
About G.E.T AI Labs#
G.E.T AI Labs is an applied AI research lab and consulting studio, operating as a subsidiary of GodsEye Technologies. The Site is an informational portal describing our research capabilities, engagement programs, methodology, team, and published research notes. It is not a marketplace, a SaaS platform, or a transactional storefront. We do not process payments through the Site; no user accounts are created or required.
The Site's primary interactive feature is an inquiry form at /contact for prospective engagement conversations. Submitting an inquiry does not, by itself, create a contract or obligation on either party — see "Engagement agreements" below.
Use of the site#
You may use the Site to:
- Read, browse, and reference the content we publish
- Cite or quote published research notes with proper attribution (see "Research notes & articles" below)
- Submit an inquiry through the contact form for purposes of discussing a potential engagement
- Contact us by email at the address provided on the Site
You agree to access the Site only through standard web browsers and reasonable automated tools (RSS readers, screen readers, search-engine crawlers operating in good faith). Public search engines and answer engines that respect robots.txt are expressly permitted to crawl and index the Site.
Prohibited use#
You agree not to:
- Use the Site, the inquiry form, or any contact channel for spam, harassment, threats, deceptive identity claims, pretexting, or unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to disrupt the Site's normal operation — including via denial-of-service attacks, automated scraping at volumes that materially exceed reasonable use, exploitation of security vulnerabilities, or circumvention of rate limits or bot-protection mechanisms.
- Submit malicious content (malware, exploits, prompt-injection payloads designed to compromise AI systems) through any form or contact channel.
- Use the Site, our publications, or our research notes to train, fine-tune, or evaluate large language models, machine learning systems, or other automated systems without our prior written permission, except where such use is expressly permitted by applicable law and limited to academic or non-commercial research that respects the attribution requirements in "Research notes & articles" below.
- Misrepresent any affiliation with G.E.T AI Labs or GodsEye Technologies, or imply endorsement that does not exist.
- Resell, repackage, mirror, or commercially redistribute Site content without prior written permission.
- Engage in conduct that violates any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
Intellectual property#
The Site, including its design, source code, copy, page layouts, visual identity (logos, color system, typography), schemas, OG images, methodology descriptions, and research notes, is the intellectual property of G.E.T AI Labs and/or its licensors, and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
"G.E.T", "G.E.T AI Labs", "GodsEye Technologies", the G.E.T logomark, and associated visual marks are trademarks of their respective owners. References to third-party institutions (e.g., Vector Institute, Mila, AMII, CIFAR, Durham College AI Hub, University of Alberta, HubSpot) are factual and used for identification purposes only; the Lab is not affiliated with those institutions except where explicitly stated on the team page.
No license, express or implied, is granted to use any of the foregoing intellectual property except as expressly set out in these Terms or in a separate written agreement.
Research notes & articles#
The long-form research notes published at /research-notes and other prose pages on the Site are written by the G.E.T AI Labs team. You are permitted to:
- Read, share, and link to the notes from any context, including in blog posts, social media, presentations, and citations.
- Quote short excerpts for the purpose of commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, or scholarship, consistent with the doctrine of fair dealing under Canadian copyright law (and fair use under U.S. law). When quoting more than a sentence or two, please attribute with the title of the note, the author byline as published, and a link back to the original URL on
getailabs.org. - Cite in academic work, again with attribution. The notes are not peer-reviewed publications but are factual, written-by-author original work and may be cited as such.
You are not permitted to: republish full notes (in whole or substantially in whole) on another site; translate notes without permission; package notes into a commercial product, training dataset, or paid newsletter; remove attribution; or use notes in a manner that misrepresents their content or our position.
User submissions#
When you submit information through the inquiry form (your name, organization, email, project description, etc.), you represent that:
- The information is accurate and you have authority to submit it on behalf of any organization you reference.
- The submission does not violate any non-disclosure obligation you owe to a third party. If the inquiry would require us to receive information under NDA, indicate this in the form's NDA toggle and keep the description high-level until an NDA is in place.
- You consent to our handling of the submission as described in our Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of any information you submit. We are not obligated to respond to any specific inquiry, and we may decline an inquiry without explanation. Submitting an inquiry does not create a confidentiality obligation on us beyond what is described in our confidentiality posture and the Privacy Policy.
Engagement agreements#
These Terms cover the website only. Any actual research, consulting, evaluation, prototyping, or engineering work performed by the Lab on behalf of a client is governed by a separate written engagement agreement.
This separation is intentional and protects both parties:
- For you — visiting the Site or submitting an inquiry does not commit you to a financial or contractual obligation. No work begins, no fees are owed, and no deliverables are promised until a written engagement agreement is executed.
- For us — replying to an inquiry, holding a scoping call, or sending a proposal is part of a pre-contract sales process. We are not obligated to deliver services, IP, or guarantees of any kind until both parties sign a written agreement that specifies scope, deliverables, IP ownership, fees, confidentiality, and other engagement terms.
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and a signed engagement agreement on any matter relating to that engagement, the engagement agreement governs.
Third-party links#
The Site contains links to third-party websites (e.g., the parent company GodsEye Technologies, the team's affiliated institutions, our data processors, public research organizations cited in our work). These links are provided for convenience and information only. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site. Your use of any linked third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site's own terms.
Disclaimers#
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
The research notes and other content on the Site are written for general informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, financial, medical, regulatory, engineering, or professional advice for any specific situation. Do not act or refrain from acting based on Site content alone — for any high-stakes decision, consult appropriate qualified professionals or engage us under a written engagement agreement.
Although the Site is designed to be available continuously, we do not guarantee uptime, performance, or freedom from errors, bugs, viruses, or security vulnerabilities. The Site is hosted on a global CDN and may be temporarily unavailable in certain regions for technical, legal, or operational reasons.
Limitation of liability#
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall G.E.T AI Labs, GodsEye Technologies, or any of their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or reputational harm — arising out of or relating to your use of the Site, regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, statute, or otherwise) and regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Site is limited, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). This limitation does not apply where prohibited by applicable law, and does not affect any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
This limitation is specific to the Site. Liability under any separate written engagement agreement is governed by the terms of that agreement, which may provide different limits.
Indemnification#
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless G.E.T AI Labs, GodsEye Technologies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of or access to the Site in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights; or (c) any false or misleading information you submit through the Site.
Governing law#
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario for any dispute arising out of these Terms.
The above governing-law clause applies to the Site only. Engagement agreements may specify a different governing law or dispute-resolution mechanism based on the nature of the work, the client's jurisdiction, and the parties' negotiated terms.
Termination#
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for any reason — including but not limited to violation of these Terms or behavior we determine to be harmful to the Site or other users. Termination of access does not relieve you of obligations accrued before termination, and the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including but not limited to Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, and Termination) will survive.
Changes to these terms#
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We do not maintain a notification list for changes to these Terms. We recommend checking this page when revisiting the Site after a substantial period.
